Hi Jeannie,
We love the place and hope to return soon.  We were four adult couples and all were happy.  There was plenty of room for everyone.  The beach is great and just a short walk away.  The $20 massages at the beach were taken every day.  We did not have a car, because it is not needed.  Everything is within walking distance.  Jim set us up with a van, driver, and guide for a day tour to some ruins, cenotes, and snorkeling.  That is the best way to go.  The bike rental shops let us rent for the week, which is a great way to get around town.

Hi Jeannie,
Well, we are now missing Mexico. We had a great time. I'll mail the keys back to you this week.
This was our third stay we enjoyed the extra days you gave us. I would say that Maria is missed.
So, like I said, we enjoyed ourselves a ton! Jim was able to clean the pool for us and we had a great time. It's such a fun little town. It will be interesting to see what follows the Oxxo in development.

Dear Jeannie

We had a great time and loved your place. It had everything we needed.
We really liked Rolando, he is a sweet guy, and of course the resident
iguana's, though not as sweet as Rolando.

I would like to add that the beds were the most comfortable beds I have
ever slept on in Mexico.

If we can get a group together again for next year we will contact you.

Thanks,

Jeannie, The house was AWESOME!!! We totally enjoyed ourselves and just had a blast. Puerto Morelos and your home was exactly what we were looking for. I cooked for forty people on Friday night and it turned out really good. We had a blast! Had dinner one night at John Gray's and John sat down and joined us for awhile. Being a foody myself, this was just EPIC!! LOVED MAMA's, INCREDIBLE Cinnamon buns. What a great town Effrin (aka Jim) was AWESOME!! He totally hooked up my wife and Josh with a private snorkeling boat. He is GREAT!! Totally helpful and showed up almost everyday to clean the pool and other stuff. The stay was fantastic, the view beautiful (I hope they do not build in front of your house, that would be a shame.) Thank you again and we look forward to staying there next year. Warmest Regards, Michael Broomfield, CO

Hello Jeanie, After a long journey home from the Yucatan to Seattle, arriving in the early hours of the morning, I'm still very groggy and my mind is not quite back to normal. It usually takes me a few days to adjust anyway just because it is like going from one planet to another, but this time is even more difficult because I am so cold here. The weather has been 52 degrees since stepping off the plane. Your home is so lovely! When we arrived and opened the gates it looked like something out of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. Everything was just wonderful. We enjoyed the pool, the view, all of it was perfect. My grandson asked if I could take him there again next year. Prior years we have been in Progresso, Merida, and Playa, but I have been through Puerto Morelos a couple of times before and found it to be a very charming pueblit The maid was fine, the caretaker, all went very well. I couldn't have been happier. I love Mexico. Kim

Hi, The computer and internet connections were terrific much to my husband’s relief! He was the main driver and grew increasingly more confident each day. We had a great time and went all over the place. The roads have definitely improved over the past few years. They were even picking up garbage on the highway. We thought the roads were in great condition and the drivers were better than the ones on the highways in Alberta! My children are learning Spanish at school and have complained about it many times. They were surprised at how much they knew and how often they had to interpret for us. So, they went back to school much more enthusiastic about learning Spanish-that was a huge coup for me. And best of all I overheard my husband say that he wouldn’t want to stay in a resort anymore because it would be to boring!!! The trip was a huge success! Thanks for all your help. Thanks to Cat for her words of wisdom too. Cheryl and Family

Jeannie, I'm finally taking the time to send a much belated thanks for providing a great vacation for our family during the week of Feb. 1-9 at Casa Mermaid for the second year. Although it started out as an adventure, we all left with wonderful memories. We also really appreciated the extra night you gave us - I couldn't believe how much better our flight fares were leaving on Friday compared to Saturday - and we loved the dinner that Triny made for us on that Thursday night - thank you! It's too bad that Jim has moved on to a different management job - but it was nice that he helped out a little while we were there. If you do get another management company/person to handle Casa Mermaid, let us know as I think we are interested in returning. Puerto Morales is such a great town and your house is an ideal location with great amenities. I hope you enjoy this blessed Easter weekend. Thanks again- Liz Van Der Vliet

Jean, Sorry for the late correspondence. We had a very nice time in Puerto Morales. The weather was perfect, the house comfortable and the town quaint. Triny made us a wonderful meal and we visited her restaurant several times for meals and snacks. We can certainly recommend Casa mermaid to others! I believe we left the home in good order and trust our deposit will be returned soon. Thanks and Best Regards, Rob & Family

Greetings Jeannie, Just a note to tell you that we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly at the Casa Mermaid. What a lovely time. There was space for everyone, no one felt cramped, the kitchen was very adequate, as we did a lot of cooking, and the upstairs balcony was such a plus. Thank you bunches, we would do it again in a heart beat. Maria and Jim were both amazing, I wanted to take them both home with me. Thanks again. Hi Jeannie, We had the best vacation of our lives. Our children are still talking about it 9 months later!! Jimmy was wonderful and very helpful. Casa Mermaid was clean, and very well kept. Being across the street from the beach with an unobstructed view was great. We can't wait to come back.

Hi Jeannie We loved Puerto Morelos! – found some great restaurants and the beaches are to die for!! The dinner was great and we all appreciate your efforts!! We invited Ms Trinney to eat with us and we had a fun time practicing our Spanish with her. The house ended up working out ok for us. My address is: Mary Stebbins Blaine MN 55449 Thanks

"We went to Puerto Morelos in December and it was one of the best
vacations we have ever had as a family. We were 5 adults and 3
children, (ages 4,5, & 8). We had plenty of space. My husband and I
had the one of the king bedrooms (with a bathroom across from it) on
the main floor, our two children shared the other king bedroom on the
main floor (with an ensuite). Our friends had the upstairs bedrooms
which both had ensuite bathrooms so everyone had their own private
bathroom. The veranda on the top floor provided and unobstructed view
of the beach. We had breakfast there every morning and watched the
beach. What a wonderful way to start the day.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you can imagine (yes, a
dishwasher). The only thing we brought was our stove top espresso
machine and food. Travelling with kids we have found it is always
better to have things you know they will eat. We all sat together for
each meal. I think you will have space. The local restaurants were
great also. We loved all of them. In the evenings alot of the
children would gather in the town square and play soccer or simply
play in the playground.

There was no road noise. The town basically shuts down around 10:00pm
and before that there isn't much going on. Perfect for families with
small children.

We loved the fact that we had our own private accommodation with a
pool. No sharing with anyone. The kids would get up each day and go
swimming (as soon as I could get some cheerios in them) for hours it
seemed. We also went swimming after dinner on some evenings!! I highly
recommend that you take life vests for the kids. We felt better
knowing that if for any reason they slipped into the pool, they were
safe. Jimmy, the caretaker, came every day to see that the pool was
running smoothly. He was also a great resource and very friendly.

We loved the town and have recommended Casa Mermaid to all of our
friends!!! It isn't a luxurious hotel, but more of a family home.
There was even videos for the kids to watch, which surprisingly did
come in handy. They loved the Little Rascals!!! If your looking for a
more quiet off the beaten path sort of vacation then this is the place
for you. There were plenty of towels which was great. Jeannie even let
us use her computer to check email etc. We used is everyday. It came
in very handy when we wanted to do research for day trips. There were
alot of travel books in the living room as well magazines and
children's books upstairs.

If you are thinking about renting a vehicle do so online before you
arrive and do your pick up at the airport. We rented a car after the
fact to go to Tulum and it cost us 3 times as much!!! Oh well live and
learn. It is very easy to get from the airport to Casa Mermaid."
